JESSI HILGER was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Evansville in 2005. After her undergraduate career, Jessi worked for a year at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, then returned to Indianapolis, where she worked at the NCAA for almost ten years. During that time, Jessi earned her Master’s Degree at Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College in 2009, and worked full-time while attending law school at Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law, earning her Juris Doctorate in 2017.
While in law school, Jessi made Order of the Barristers and was a finalist in the Staton Intramural Moot Court Competition, arguing at the Indiana Supreme Court. She also participated in national moot court competitions through the American Bar Association’s Appellate Advocacy Competition, where she and her partner were deemed regional champions and earned the award for the sixth best brief at the national competition. Jessi served as the Chief Justice for the Staton Intramural Moot Court Competition, and had the distinguished privilege of delivering the commencement speech at McKinney’s spring 2017 graduation ceremony.
Prior to joining O’Bryan, Brown & Toner in the summer of 2019, Jessi served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Nancy Eshcoff Boyer and Honorable Craig J. Bobay in the Allen County Superior Court Civil Division, and was a Deputy Attorney General with the Professional Licensing Unit of the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. Her current practice is devoted to representing health care clients against claims of professional negligence.
