JESSI HILGER was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Evansville in 2005. After her undergraduate career, Jessi worked for a year at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, then returned to Indianapolis, where she worked at the NCAA for almost ten years prior to going to law school.
While in law school, Jessi made Order of the Barristers, participated in the national American Bar Association’s Appellate Advocacy Competition where she was deemed regional champion, and delivered the commencement speech at her law school’s graduation ceremony.
Jessi has been practicing law in Indiana since 2017. Following law school, she clerked for two trial court judges in Allen County, Indiana and went on to serve as a Deputy Attorney General in the Licensing Enforcement and Homeowner Protection Unit. As a Deputy Attorney General, she presented dozens of cases before various professional licensing boards and administrative law judge panels.
Her current practice is devoted to representing health care clients against claims of professional negligence. She has tried several cases in Indiana. In one such case, she was able to obtain a defense verdict in favor of a dentist against claims of medical malpractice and insurance fraud, even despite the Judge deciding that no expert testimony was needed on behalf of Plaintiff to support his malpractice claims. Jessi has also successfully had several medical malpractice and Attorney General medical licensing cases dismissed through the drafting and filing of various motions and responsive pleadings.
