JOE SCHERPENBERG was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Political Science. While at UC, he was a varsity swim team member and eventually became an Academic All-American, team captain, and U.S. Olympic Trial Qualifier. Joe then attended the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he served as a member of the Moot Court Board and was elected to the Student Bar Association Executive Committee.
While attending law school, Joe was a law clerk for Fayette County Attorney Larry Roberts in Lexington. He was also a judicial extern for Judge John Rogers of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He joined O’Bryan, Brown, & Toner in 2020 as an associate attorney after clerking with the firm during his last summer of law school.
Joe’s primary area of practice is civil liability defense litigation, focusing on medical malpractice and professional negligence. When he’s not in the office, Joe enjoys swimming competitively with U.S. Masters Swimming, playing in recreational basketball leagues, and cheering on his beloved University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
