KAREN WITHERS focuses her practice in the area of professional liability defense with particular emphasis on advising and defending physicians, physician practice groups, nurses, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare providers in all stages of medical malpractice litigation in courts throughout the State of Indiana. Additionally, Karen has significant experience in appellate practice and has successfully defended cases before the Indiana Supreme Court and the Indiana Court of Appeals. Karen also represents medical professionals in matters before the Office of Consumer Protection at the office of the Indiana Attorney General.
Karen graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She earned her Juris Doctorate and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law.
Karen and her husband, Todd, enjoy traveling and spending time with their young son, Henry.
Karen has successfully defended healthcare providers in complex and high risk civil litigation cases, including successfully defending a constitutional challenge to the damages cap under Indiana’s Medical Malpractice Act.
