Clay Edwards and Morgan Blind successfully defended an Indiana cardiologist against claims for medical malpractice in Vanderburgh Circuit Court. Plaintiffs alleged that Defendant incorrectly assessed Plaintiff’s complaint of chest pain. Plaintiffs claimed that Defendant should have ordered an urgent cardiac catheterization which they claimed would have prevented Plaintiff’s subsequent heart attack. Edwards and Blind argued that Plaintiff’s complaint of chest pain was correctly evaluated and treated with aggressive medical management and outpatient cardiology follow up. The defense also argued that even if the Plaintiff had an urgent cardiac catheterization, it would not have prevented the Plaintiff’s subsequent heart attack. The jury agreed with Edwards and Blind and rendered a unanimous verdict in favor of the Defendant.
