Partner Scott Burroughs was honored, along with others on the Summer Law Institute committee, at the LBA annual awards luncheon with LBA Committee of the Year.
The Summer Law Institute is a week-long program for high school students interested in the law or legal careers. The program culminates in a mock trial carried out by the students. Throughout the week, in addition to their preparation for the mock trial, they also go through seminars on well-rounded legal topics presented by local practitioners, mock law school classes, tour the local courts and observe court, and various interactions with local lawyers and Judges. The goal of the program is to give the students insight into the legal profession and for the students to start to build ties to the profession.

Morgan Mottley recently won an appeal at the Sixth Circuit in which she defended a successful Daubert challenge and summary judgment in a premises liability case. The case involved an intervening change in the law by the Kentucky Supreme Court while the case was at the Sixth Circuit.
