David Strite and Nicholas Davis successfully defended a board-certified anesthesiologist against claims of medical malpractice and wrongful death in a seven-day trial in Clark County Superior Court in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Plaintiffs alleged that the anesthesiologist failed to timely recognize and properly treat an anaphylactic reaction to a common prophylactic antibiotic. Dave and Nick presented standard of care and causation defenses. The case involved expert testimony from anesthesiologists, pathologists, an allergist, and a pharmacologist. The jury returned a unanimous defense verdict after deliberating for approximately five hours.
