MERIT HARRIS was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a minor in Political Science from Bellarmine University, where she played on the women’s field hockey team. She went on to earn her law degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Merit served as the President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and the Articles Editor of the Journal of Animal and Environmental Law. Merit joined O’Bryan, Brown, & Toner as a summer law clerk in 2022 and began practicing with the firm in 2023. Her primary area of practice is insurance defense litigation with a focus on medical malpractice. She is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Indiana.

Outside of the office, Merit enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and cheering on the Louisville Cardinals.
