David Strite and Benjamin Weigel successfully defended a Louisville chiropractor during a week-long trial in Jefferson County Circuit Court. Plaintiff alleged that the chiropractic adjustment she received in the defendant’s office necessitated a multi-level cervical disc fusion. These allegations were supported by the plaintiff’s subsequent treating physician and by a local chiropractor. Strite and Weigel countered that the defendant doctor’s care and treatment of the plaintiff were appropriate and that the adjustment described by the plaintiff could not have caused the neck pathology alleged. The defense theory was supported by a prominent chiropractor from Madison, Wisconsin and by a biomechanical anatomist from Bellarmine University. The jury agreed with the defense, and returned a verdict in the chiropractor’s favor.
