James Grohmann successfully defended an Elizabethtown chiropractor during a week-long trial in Hardin County Circuit Court. Plaintiff alleged that the chiropractic adjustment she received in the defendant’s office led to a vertebral artery dissection and stroke. These allegations were supported by the plaintiff’s subsequent treating physicians and her expert chiropractor. Her alleged damages were supported by a neuropsychologist. Grohmann countered that the adjustment performed by the defendant chiropractor was indicated and properly performed. The defense also contested that plaintiff had a continuing injury. The defense theory was supported by a chiropractor from Columbus, Ohio and a neurologist specializing in stroke from Nashville, Tennessee. The jury agreed with the defense, and returned a unanimous verdict in the chiropractor’s favor.
